2025 Shinju Matsuri Festival of the Pearl Celebrates its 55th Anniversary
May 05, 2026
In 2025, the Shinju Matsuri “Festival of the Pearl” celebrated its 55th anniversary with record-breaking community participation and a vibrant program of cultural events.
As presenting sponsor, Paspaley helped transform the Shinju Hub into the festival’s beating heart. Open daily for 15 days, the Hub offered an expansive program of wellness, cultural and entertainment activities, from sunrise ice baths and spoken-word performances to live music and the much-loved Shinju Hub Choir. Set against the backdrop of Roebuck Bay, the vibrant Hub welcomed locals and visitors alike throughout the festival.
Paspaley also sponsored the annual Senior Citizens’ Morning Tea, bringing together more than 100 Broome elders for a morning of connection, music and celebration. In addition, the group supported the Float Parade through sponsorship of the Schools and Children category.
“Paspaley’s partnership has been instrumental in making Shinju Matsuri more inclusive and dynamic than ever before,” said Lynne Bunney. “Their support enables us to celebrate Broome’s unique pearling heritage and multicultural spirit on a grand scale. The whole team extends heartfelt thanks to Paspaley for its ongoing commitment to the festival and the Broome community”
